KINET summer school 2026 (Environmental Research Summer School)

*The participation fee includes accommodation, the welcome reception and transportation between the activity venues. It doesn’t include round-trip travel expenses to and from Kanazawa. In addition, please arrange your own travel insurance.

【Q and A】

Q1. What is the main language of communication during the program, English or Japanese?

A1. English. We use English during the summer school. So the applicants need to be able to speak English at a conversational level.

 

Q2. Are there any specific requirements for applicants? For instance, is the program open to both undergraduate and graduate students?

A2. Both undergraduate and graduate students can join the program. There is no restriction on the field of study. Students who are not majoring in Environmental Science can also apply.

 

Q3. Do we apply for it collectively by university credits, or do we apply individually?

A3. Please apply the program individually.  The application deadline is April 30.

 

Q4. How many people can be participating? What will the selection process be?

A4. The maximum is 8 people, but we plan to raise the limit depending on the number of applicants.
As a rule, it will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Q5. Regarding the required “Address” field, should students provide their permanent home address or our university address?

A5. We need to require your residential address.

 

Q6. About the breakdown of participation fees.

A6. Since arriving in Kanazawa University, the program includes transportation costs during the summer school program, accommodation costs, and the cost of one welcome party. Transportation costs to and from Kanazawa University (airfare, Railway fare) are not included.

Q7. Is there any academic credit awarded?

A7. No academic credit will be awarded. We don’t issue open badges, but we do issue certificates of completion.
