Outline of Research

Our group has been studying dynamics of chemical compounds in aquatic environment. We use radioactive and stable isotopes as tracers of material dynamics in watershed environment with rivers, lakes and coastal marine area, and assess transport behavior of geo-materials with their sources and residence time. We also focus on basic reaction such as sorption-desorption behavior of trace elements and organic matter in aquatic environment. Final goal is to simulate dynamics of chemical compounds in river-costal marine area and establish new concept of Ryuiki-ken to understand responsibility and variability between river watershed and costal marine environment.
