Research content

We investigate the influence of environmental contaminants, bioactive substances, physical stimuli using the scale as a model of bone. We recently demonstrated that polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) disrupt the bone metabolism in fish. It has been reported that PAHs, including oil, induce spinal deformity in fish. We will try to determine the mechanism that causes spinal deformity in fish as a result of oil spills.
