1. Bio-aerosols: population dynamics and emerging global trends

Research Professor Stephen B. Pointing

Abstract:
The aerosphere is often regarded as the last unexplored microbial habitat. New research by the Kanazawa – Yale-NUS – AUT collaboration have revealed critical new insight on the mechanistic basis for microbial dispersal. This has application in ecology for understanding biogeoghraphic process, as well as applications for biosecurity and public health. Examples from recent studies at large spatial scales will be presented to illustrate key advances.
